Even though Unity claims to support multi-touch monitors for desktop platforms (Win7), it is not really the case. As of Unity 3.5, it actually only supports a single finger touching the screen, emulated as a mouse cursor!
The implications for FingerGestures are:
- single finger gestures will work fine
- multi-finger gestures will not work correctly out-of-the-box
You can however get multitouch support via external libraries, such as uniTUOI
), and extend FingerGestures to make use of them as well. Dave Buchhofer wrote a great blog entry
on this topic.
I'm planning on providing support for multi-touch monitors in one of the next updates, unless a new Unity version offering proper multitouch support for desktop monitors ships before then
